How billing works

Prepaid credit (default)

Top up via card — minimum €20. Endpoint fees and traffic deducted in real time, itemised per deduction.

Auto-recharge

On by default. When the balance drops below your threshold (default €20), Stripe charges a top-up of your chosen amount (default €50).

Grace period

If the balance hits €0, all endpoints keep working for 7 days. Email + dashboard alerts at day 1, 3, and 7.

Unused credit

Fully refundable on account closure, no questions — minus payment-processor fees.

Enterprise (1 000+ endpoints)

Net-30 invoice billing, custom per-unit rates, optional dedicated infrastructure and 99.9% SLA.

Frequently asked questions

What counts as an "endpoint"?

One endpoint is one STOW-RS destination URL — one HTTPS address that receives DICOM data. Each endpoint can have multiple mTLS client certificates (one per sending site or device), so it typically represents a single product deployment rather than a single source.

Is patient data stored by Dicomly?

No. Dicomly is a stateless proxy. DICOM bytes flow from the sender through our infrastructure to your STOW-RS receiver in real time. Nothing is written to disk. No PHI is ever persisted on Dicomly infrastructure.

How does billing work?

The default is prepaid credit: top up via card (minimum €20), and endpoint fees plus egress are deducted in real time. Auto-recharge is on by default so your balance stays funded automatically. Every deduction is itemised in the dashboard and exported as a monthly invoice PDF.

What happens if my balance hits zero?

Your account enters a 7-day grace period. All endpoints continue to accept and forward studies normally during that time. You get email and dashboard alerts at day 1, 3, and 7. After grace, new C-STORE associations return a DIMSE "out of resources" response until the balance is topped up. Endpoints and certificates are never deleted by a billing event.

Do I need a BAA / DPA?

A Data Processing Agreement (BAA-equivalent) is available to every customer — free, click-to-sign, no plan requirement. If your jurisdiction or procurement requires a signed agreement before you can send PHI, you can get one from the console before provisioning your first endpoint.

What happens if my STOW-RS receiver is down?

Dicomly returns a DIMSE error to the sender, which then retries on its own schedule — typically every 5–30 minutes for up to 24 hours. This is the same retry behaviour the sender would see if it were sending directly to an unavailable DICOM server. No data is buffered or queued on Dicomly infrastructure.

Can I try before paying anything?

Yes. The first endpoint is free, forever. No credit card required. You pay only for egress (€0.05/GB) while on the free endpoint. Provision more endpoints whenever you're ready.
